In addition to the Catuai variety coffee we are offering from Wilford Lamastus’ farm Elida Estate, we are excited to present a very special, natural process, Green Tip Gesha variety lot. The cultivar known as Gesha (or Geisha) was rediscovered and popularized in the Boquete region of Panama. Elida Estate is a recognized leader in the region, known for producing some of the best tasting Gesha to be found.
The Lamastus family is continuing their tradition of racking up awards for their outstanding coffees. In this year’s annual Best of Panama coffee competition, the Lamastus family won four awards – including two prizes for Elida Estate and, for their other farm, El Burro another two awards.
For those not familiar with the natural process, the coffee fruit is simply allowed to dry whole, resulting in smooth intensely fruity flavors. This process in combination with the rare Gesha variety results in a unique range of fruity and floral flavors.
The Lamastus family has a rich tradition in coffee growing dating back 100 years. Their main objective has always been to work with the environment, keeping it in its most pristine and natural condition. The Lamastus family has a complex quality assurance program on the farm and at their processing mill. This Gesha variety coffees from Elida Estate is truly one of the best coffees in the world.
